Pat Warren 1961 -2010
Pat Warren was Captain of the Venturers in the mid 1990s. He died unexpectedly on 26 January 2010 aged 49. A number of Vs attended the funeral held in Brighton.
Pat was a talented artist and was responsible for the Vs logo you see on this site. He also arranged club tours and designed the tour T shirts.

Pat was a good off break bowler and he fancied himself with the bat though none of us quite saw it on the field!
He is sadly missed by all of his Venturer mates. In recognition of his unique contribution to the club, we staged a memorial game.

Pat at Budleigh Salterton
Memorial Game 29 May 2010
Despite the weather it was fun for Venturers past and present to meet up at the Civil Service ground to play a memorial game for Pat, have a few drinks and catch up a bit. It was nice too to see Debs and a few old friends who turned up to watch what turned out to be a 20/20 game. Bowlers were restricted to 3 overs each, which meant the standard was variable, but then again there were plenty of rusty batsmen making their way to (and from) the crease. Both Ivor and Neil got unlucky (ie ducks) but Joe reminded us of his cover drives, Paul and Dan showed some class, Mark and Bill hit out breezily and that was enough to beat the side who batted second with only Robin, Rohan and Barney (played!) getting double figures. Thanks to all, especially those who travelled long distances for this game.
